To register to vote in Virginia, you must be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Virginia, at least 18 years old by the next general election, have had voting rights restored if convicted of a felony, and have had capacity restored by court order if declared mentally incapacitated. VIRGINIA NOW HAS SAME DAY VOTER REGISTRATION
Ballots cast by same-day registrants will be counted as provisional ballots, giving election officials time to verify identification and eligibility to vote.

When Do I Vote?
In the Commonwealth of Virginia, the County of Fairfax, elections are held EVERY YEAR. General Elections are held the first Tuesday in November. Primaries are usually held in June. Early voting
All registered voters can vote early without a reason or excuse.
Curbside voting is available during early voting: those 65 and older or with a physical disability may vote from their vehicle.
